Psychiatric Services for Adolescents
The Inpatient Treatment Program for adolescents provides the highest quality of care by creating a structured environment that encourages early recovery and, in time, the patients return to a normal home life. This environment includes attention to the skills of daily living, educational and vocational development, opportunities to develop interpersonal skills with a group, the restoration of family relationships, and any special areas where the diagnosis and treatment process indicate that help is needed.
The treatment is based on the belief that adolescents differ in the ways they mature and in the ways they handle stress. Therefore, an individualized treatment approach is provided for each patient. A "multi-disciplinary team" approach to treatment is provided, which means that a variety of specialists will be available to work with the adolescent and family on all aspects of life.
Furthermore, the patients can continue their behavior health treatment through the Outpatient Programs. They can live in their own homes and continue their treatment in the daytime (Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient)
Benefits of Inpatient Program:
- Rapid Stabilization, including 7 day a week programming, with an emphasis to transition to outpatient services.
- Multi-disciplinary Treatment Team approach.
- For adolescents, the Aftercare group is offered free for one year within a multi-family group setting.
What can a patient expect from the Inpatient Treatment Programs?
- Individual therapy
- Patients receive four therapy groups per day, including psycho-education, chemical dependency, process, and recreational activity groups
- Groups are facilitated by professional therapist, psychologist and chemical dependency counselors.
- Families are encouraged to attend at least one, 45 minute family therapy session to address issues of immediate concern and plans for follow-up treatment
- Family Therapy groups are also available three times a week.
The patients and their family can be in contact with various members of the treatment team. The team members and their roles are explained below.

Treatment Team
We believe a team approach is the most effective method to deliver quality care. The treatment team is led by a psychiatrist and often includes a licensed therapist, psychiatric nurse, activity/recreational therapist, clinical social worker, and mental health counselors. The treatment team offers not only their clinical expertise and experience, but also their concern and compassion.
